My daughter was really struggling with her times tables but very quickly after getting this, she started to excel. What a fantastic way to learn!

Took a bit longer than a week (which is suggested in the book) but it worked brilliantly. Didn’t involve Dad with the book but when my 7 year old did a demo for him he was astonished, especially when I was prompting with Mrs Snowman times the robins etc.

It was a clever book my son can now do sums from that book.

Fantastic little that helps young children get to grips with maths through little rhymes

Amazing book

This little book has made such a difference to our daughter’s recall. We’ve tried everything from TT Rockstars to Rock the Times Tables CDs to Hit The Button but this unassuming book is the first that has offered something completely new. Ok, it’s a little slower to remember the rhyme than instant recall but it’s stopped the blind panic that my daughter used to get in times tables when encountering one that flummoxed her.

This is genius! I am not sure how long the enthusiasm it has generated will last, or if in fact it might just be quicker to work out your tables using maths you already know, but tonight this held my eight year old daughter’s attention for over an hour and she loved it. And that will do me! Homework is a chore with this one and when her teachers mentioned that we should also be doing some tables every night it just made me want to cry. But we enjoyed this book together and she says she prefers English to maths and this is ‘like making maths english.’ I can still hear her, well after bedtime, chatting away about snowmen and robins. Thank you for this book and at least one (and probably loads more) non stressful times table practise.

Absolutely BRILLIANT!!!!!!!

After struggling with rote learning of times tables, but loving stories, this puts the 2 together and has been nothing short of amazing at helping my daughter (and me!) with 3, 4, 6, 7, 8 & 9 times tables. Inspired by the book we are writing our own times fables for 2, 5, 10, 11 & 12. We absolutely love this book!!

A great idea for able readers. I bought to use with a child where English is an additional language so really wasn’t suitable at this stage. I will revisit in a few months. A good idea and with everything, the more times it is read the more useful it will become as a teaching aid.

I thought the reviews were all too good to be true but tried any way.
My 9 year old could not learn her tables no matter what we tried and she was getting really down about it. After having the book for three days and reading it 3 or 4 times a day she had cracked it 🙂
She loves this book and is so proud of herself.

What a fabulous book!! Bought for my 6 yr old daughter who struggles a little to focus if she finds things difficult and after reading through a few times, knew the answers to 3,4,6,7,8,9 times tables!! Thank you and would definitely recommend!

Great book – very easy to understand and learn the accompanying story

Why didn’t in know about this sooner…if your child is struggling I couldn’t recommend this book more. within a week the change in my child was amazing – no longer struggling and grown in confidence.

My 5 year old son had lost interest in learning his times tables once the easiest ones 2, 10, 11 etc had been dealt with and was calculating them in his head rather than learning them off by heart. I left this in his bedroom last week and lo and behold – he now knows all of his times tables fluently. Job done – could not be more impressed with this book!

Good book nice idea

Really good book for my son who is a visual learner. He remembers the stories and pictures when doing his tables.

This book is fantastic! My little girl is dyslexic and really struggled with her times tables and recalling them. Since using this book she has really improved. I always recommend this book to others. It’s fab!

Great would recommend.

I am a senior leader at a primary school and focus on those children who have difficulties with their learning. I sat with a group of Year 6 children who could not recall times tables facts with any confidence. The transformation in these children after reading through Times Fables has been truly remarkable. I don’t think I would have believed it unless I’d seen it myself. By visualising the characters in the story they now know their tables and it has impacted in their general level of confidence when approaching maths. Parents have said that it is as if ‘a light switch has turned on’. Other teachers at the school have been ‘blown away’. We would LOVE the author to come and visit…..and wondered if there were any further miracle books on the horizon related to fractions, percentages and decimals!!!!!

Class teacher said my 9 year old was struggling in maths. Thinking she may have discalcular but really excels in reading this book might be what she needed. It really was. We spent 20 minutes reading through the stories, she went out to dance and when she came back was able to answer every times table query I asked. I’d forgotten the stories but she remembered all of them.

Really good for children struggling with times tables

I’m really really impressed with this book. My daughter was previously struggling but picked up a fair few of the trickier times tables from the first time reading.

An amazing book after my daughter with dyscalculia has struggled with times tables for years, she has picked this up really quickly. I personally found the concept easier if at first you just read the book instead of looking for the maths incorporated!

My daughter was like a rabbit in the headlights with times tables. I coild see her mind go blank when questions were asked.
Within 2 reads of this book she had cracked them.
If you have a visual learner this book is absolutely amazing. We have tried every which way to learn them and now in year 6 we thought she would just never grt to grips with them. How wrong could we be. She asks every night to have a quick times tables quiz – wanting to answer them quicker and quicker.
My son is not a visual learner – he is lucky enough to have fantastic recall and is top set maths. He didn’t understand it at all lol.
Funny how they are all so different.
This has given my daughter super confidence now in maths lessons and she is so happy. Thank you

I ordered this book for my six year old daughter just based on positive reviews. When the book arrived, I was really not impressed with the method. But I was proven wrong. Daughter learned the whole thing really fast. In her own words this is an amazing book. Highly recommended.

This is a brilliantly simple book – in just 2 days of reading my 10.5 yr old is reciting tables he has never ever been able to retain before. The narrative is young for older kids who struggle – but we just snuggled up and read it together. He’s now asking me to test him! I am totally in awe – we have had a lightbulb moment. Thank-you, thank-you, thank-you!

My child has Dyspraxia and to watch him struggle with times tables was unbareable. I did a lot of research and decided on this book for the visual aspect rather than learning times table songs or playing games. We took our time and learnt the characters and then read the stories without pressure….straight away he got it! This book is pure magic!

Simply amazing, if your child is struggling with their times table all they need is this book and they will get it! Literally the most useful book I have ever bought!

My daughter is nearly 12, loves to read, but find maths extremely difficult. She finds telling the time and times tables hard and has always struggled with this. She read through this book once and could immediately answer most of the times tables!!! I think she will need to read it a few more times to remember all of them. Fantastic book and worth the risk of buying to try it out.

This book is miraculous!!! My little girl who has been struggling with her times tables since starting school a few years ago, read this book and by the end of the same evening knew her times tables! I wouldn’t believe it if I hadn’t seen it with my own eyes – it is no exaggeration! I have to confess that even I have managed to remember some of the times tables that I am normally useless with (e.g. 9×7) as I can also remember the story… so it really works for anyone of any age (particularly if you visualise images and stories in your head)!!! It is absolutely worth a try if you have tried all else and so far failed!

I was very hopeful when buying this book having read many other good reviews. All I can say is it worked really well for my daughter. Within a day she could answer all the multiplication questions correctly. The stories are easy to remember and engaging. It has given her a huge confidence boost. The book was worth every penny!

A brilliant lil book that my Grandson loves because he has found some of the times tables sums easy to remember in the way it’s been created into the story book. Will definitely recommend to others and it arrived on time.

As a staff member of a school, I have tried many ways to help children learn their tables. This book is a fun way to help them and they absolutely love it! We’ve had a lot of success with this and would absolutely recommend this to all schools.

Amazing! My daughter is 9 and a 1/2, she had got to the point at school where her lack of times tables knowledge was starting to hold her back. We had tried hit the button and times tables rockstars, but nothing was sticking. I thought the book would be worth a try as she loves to read and can remember stories really well. After the first read she was fairly confident on about 80% of them. She’s now read it three times and knows them all. I can’t quite believe it, it’s boosted her confidence no end and she says it’s already helping with her school work.

Oh my god. My 8 year learnt his times tables after just two readings of this book in one night! We will read this again and again to ensure he still remembers the stories but I am totally shocked. He struggles with times tables but loves stories so this was right up his alley!
I think I might copy the pages and stick them on the dining room wall so he can read them at his leisure time keep the stories in his head!

Was a bit sceptical how this book worked but its a genius idea for those little minds that struggle with repetition retention. My 8 year old learnt the times tables included after 3 reads and my dyslexic 9 year old loves the visual representation of numbers. A winner in our house

This was recommended to me by a friend – at first I was sceptical as its definitely not my way of learning.. however after a few days my daughter (year 4) totally got the hang of it and was able to answer all her 3,4,6,7,8 and 9 times tables easily by recalling the stories in the book. I have now recommended this to other friends whose children are struggling to learn times tables. If there is another book for 11 and 12 times tables that would be super!

i am a primary school teacher but I got this for my y5 child who was really struggling to learn and retain her times tables. I was amazed at how quickly and effectively it worked. Ideally suited to visual learners but I think most children would benefit. Please be aware that this only deals with 3,4,6,7,8,9 tables. Also does not deal with 11 and 12 which are part of the new curriculum. However well worth it to tick off some of the more tricky tables. I made my own story up for 12s which has worked equally well. I’ve tried all sorts of ways to help my daughter, this is THE one which almost instantly worked…. Definitely worth a try, just don’t expect it to cover every table.

This works! In 1 evening on completion of the book 9yo could reel off all the tables in the book. How. Why. What. Great!

This book has really helped my twin girls who struggle with memorising timetables. After only 20 mins they could recite the answers to 1/4 of the book and had retained the answers the next morning!
I was sceptical after trying flash cards, pc games, white board excercises and music but clearly the visual description is how they learn and retain. Love this book and have bought more copies to share!

I was really impressed with this book. My 7 year old has been really struggling with her timestables and really lost interest with learning them. The stories and rhymes in the book are great and are a great point of reference when she gets stuck.

This is a really good book.
I was skeptical at first, but so far my daughter 6 has seemed to remember quite a few of the short stories. I normally do 1 new story each day and then ask her to recap each of the stories we have read to ensure she can recall the characters and the value.

This should help kids with times tables good way for them to learn

This is the BEST tool out there for times tables.
We’ve had it a week and my daughter, who is 6 nearly 7, knows them all!
It’s really helped me refresh too, and because the pictures etch into your memory there’s really no getting it wrong (with a bit of practice, of course.)
It’s just fantastic.
My daughters teacher was telling the class about the other times tables they’d need to start learning like ‘8 x7’ and my daughter put her hand up to answer! He was surprised she knew the answer and asked her how she knew this, and a he told him about her book, and has been asked to bring it in so he can see it.

I was sceptical when buying this book, I really didn’t think it would work but after reading twice, my 7 year old knew her times tables! Now she’s able to reply quickly. Basically, the characters in the story represent numbers (eg, robins number 3, Dr.Sven is 7) and each page combines 2 characters with a number worked into it.
The characters are the multiplication and the number is the answer. To find the answer to a times table, the child thinks which characters those numbers are, and which story they’re in together and they’ll have the answer… A robin(3) landed on Dr.Sven’s (7) nose and made her sneeze 21 times. 3x =21.
There are also rhymes for square numbers in the back of the book.
5x, 2x and 10x are not included as they’re considered easier ones which children learn first at school/home.
Very pleased with my purchase, worth the expense and think all schools should have a few copies. They would be especially helpful for children of all ages who struggle with times tables.

I was completely flumoxed when I first read this book…. Then I realised how it was working and that the tables were going in!!
Our 8 year old son has really struggled with his tables. However, he has found the use of imagery helpful in recall. He nailed them all after a week, need to keep practice up though

Such a simple idea yet so effective! My 6 year old is learning his time tables now he’s in Year 2. It’s took him a couple of weeks each to get to grips with 2’s, 10’s and 5’s. We just picked out the stories relating to the 3’s for now as that what he’ll be tested on this week. After just 10 minutes he knows at least half of his 3 times tables. I was gobsmacked! Another 10 minutes tonight and hopefully he’ll have them sussed.

Brilliant book, really helped my 8 year old who was struggling with his times tables tests at school, we read through the book a couple of times and within 24 hours he already had so much more confidence. I’ve already recommended it to lots of my other mum friends and would definately say its worth every penny! 10/10

When most of us were younger we read (or had read to us) stories like Goldilocks and the Three Bears or The Three Little Pigs. Now as an adult I haven’t read those stories in many, many years but I still remember that (spoiler alert!)Goldilocks tried porridge that was too hot, too cold and just right, or that the Big Bad Wolf huffed and puffed and blew two of the pigs houses down. This amazing Times Fables book works on the same principal – that you will remember a story! When you first read it, it looks like it is intended for younger children, but the older children I worked with found it great fun when we acted some of the pages out and gave some of the characters different voices, and personalised some of the details to them. I was really pleased they remembered some of the stories the following day, and then amazed that they remembered more week after week. This book really works when you make it fun and if you know any children who struggle with their times tables then this book is a must buy!

This book is a MIRACLE. I had been teaching my son his times tables for a long time to no avail. He knew his 1,2,3,5,10 and 11, but he just struggled with the rest until the day I got this book. He instantly understood the stories and learnt his times tables in less than an hour. With his 12 times table, I just asked him to keep adding 12 to the last answers. GET THIS BOOK.

this book is amazing. My 7 year old daughter was really worried about learning her times tables in year 3- she really didn’t think she’d be able to do it and almost had a mental block when discussing or trying to go through times tables. I bought this book in the hope it would help. She read it through twice, remembered the stories and just got it!! She can now tell you any 3-10 times tables sums straight away. All her worries about maths have gone. I couldn’t recommend this book enough.

I bought this expecting very little but, from the first read was amazed at how much my just turned 8 year old could remember. She’s read it about 5 times and can already answer most times tables questions correctly. It’s fantastic! A week ago we were struggling with 3s!

Honestly I could cry with joy. Having struggled for the past three years with re-enforcement of maths with my now 7 year old, we have found a tool to help and inspire. She understood the concept straight away and enjoys recalling the stories and linking them to her sums. I cannot thank the author enough, thank you thank you thank you.

Could not believe the diffrence this book has made for my daughter. In less than a week she had learnt them all, very impressed. I was so impressed with this book that i am now running a maths session at her school, using this book to base the lessons on. So far the results have been excellent. It suits children who are vissual learners and who are struggling to grasp their times tables the conventional way of repetition. When the book first arrived, I got the idea behind it straight away, but for my husband, who has always been good with numbers, he simply could not see how it would work. Have faith, read the book, enjoy the stories, and the results speak for themselves. I cant thank the author enough, and I hope many more children will benifit from the diffrent approach this book takes. Thank you.

I’m at my wits end trying to help my 8 year old daughter learn tables. She has become so stressed and scared of numbers and nothing has worked yet until this. She loved it – she totally got into it and started to remember answers to times tables questions after the first read. It’s such a lovely, stress free, playful and visual approach to learning tables. It might not work for every child but it really has worked for mine and I wish I’d had something like this as a child myself. So I’d say, it’s worth a try if you are looking for a different approach.

I very rarely write reviews, however I am so impressed with this book I feel I want to share our experience. My 8 year old son is now learning his times tables with ease. I have tried EVERYTHING from rhyming cds to puzzles and colouring in. Finally here is a way to learn the tables that works!

I never write reviews but felt I had to for this book. It is amazing. My daughter is dyslexic so learning times tables is very hard for her. This book has transformed her recall. She feels so proud of herself and now is inventing her own stories to help her learn other concepts e.g. Time.

This book is a simple work of genius. My six year old learned his tables (or fables) in two days. Brilliant! And fun.

I was a bit sceptical that this book would help as quickly as it claimed but thought anything that might help my 9 year old son a bit was worth a go. IT WORKS! After reading it once he could remember half the calculations. After a few more goes this week he is rapidly recalling all of them. This is after years of trying to find different ways to make times tables easier to learn and more engaging. We’ve tried games, colouring, problem solving and recitation but he find it so easy to just think of the characters and recall the answer we are going to make our own for the 12 times table.

After 3 years of trying to help my daughter with her times tables, we had got nowhere. We had tried songs, rhymes, work books I’d almost given up hope that she would learn them. As a last attempt I bought this book, it is AMAZING. We have read it through only twice and she now knows her 3,4,6,7 and 8 times tables. It’s almost too good to be true, but it really did work. I could almost cry with happiness for her. She is clearly a girl who learns visually! Btw she is 10 years old, and did originally think the book was for younger children but know she knows it works she Is very happy to read it with me.

Absolutely amazing book!! Every child who struggles with the time tables should have one. My 6years old and I learnt them all incredibly quickly!! It’s easy to use and the stories come with a shorter version, so the little ones can read them by themselves, the visual help is great too as it’s simple and bold, it sticks to your mind inmediatly. Definitely ecommend this book!!

Great way to help kids remember their times tables.

This is FANTASTIC! think this book should be used at schools! It’s a must!! I was very sceptical about the reviews and the description saying the children could learn times tables in less than a week and really easily! I was really hoping this was true as my 8yr old has really struggled with learning these. We read the book together maybe twice and both my 8yr old and my 6yr old could remember most of the times tables. My younger one especially learned most of them with the help of the pictures. This really is such a fun, effective and a clever way of teaching children times tables! Thank you.

After reading the reviews I was a bit sceptical as it had so many good reviews regarding how well the book worked for them. I ordered as my daughter was struggling with her times tables. Realising she was more of a visual learner I thought what have I got to lose!!! I can quiet honestly say that within 4 days of reading the short stories she learnt her 3,4,6,7,8,9 times table.

You need to have time to read regularly to learn all of this

Love this book, my son learnt his 3,4,6,7,8 and 9 times tables in less than a week, it is a pity that the 12s are not included, so we made up our own stories and he knows his 12s as well.

Thoroughly recommend this book! My eight year old daughter has struggled learning her times tables. This book has made it fun and visual for her and it’s taken a very short space of time for her to remember the stories and the sums!

As other reviewers have said, this book is amazing! My grandchildren 8 and 6 only spent about 20 minutes with me yesterday looking at this book, but they remembered the stories almost perfectly from the first reading. We looked at about half of the stories, and when they got home they shocked and delighted their parents with how many tables they knew even from those few minutes. They thoroughly enjoyed it too – even my maths-phobic granddaughter 🙂 The concept is fantastic; and whilst not all of the tables are covered in this book, it will be possible to make up stories of my own for the remaining ones now the idea has been sown. The value of learning so quickly and easily is immeasurable – and so encouraging for the children. This is a great resource book and we’ve already recommended it to several friends.

Bought this for my son, it’s like magic! Don’t worry about how it works just go for it! I have been a teacher for 22 years, wish I had known about it before now. It does work-simple as that 👍🏻

Really works. My 7 year old is not great with numbers but he managed to learn his 6 times table with no problems. My only recommendation would be to make sure the child you are buying this for can remember characters in a story, otherwise this won’t work.

I can’t believe I stumbled on this book through a fb advert. My 9 year old daughter is dyslexic and has been getting annoyed with herself that she can’t do her times tables. She was panicking last night that she needed (her words not mine) to know her 8 times tables for today as she is being tested. Less than an hour later she knows them. Numbers 3,4,6,7 & 8 each have a character associated with them. Then there is a small story with two of these characters in them which then give the answer to the question. There is also a picture with each story that can be visually storied away. The visual learning style and stories attached to each character have stuck in her head. She just needs to recall the story with the two characters in and she knows the answer. She describes it as finding the picture in her head and then the story comes. I’m sure this process will become quicker with time but the fact she can now tell me what 6×8 is has given her such confidence. She is so proud of herself she is taking the book to dyslexic school today and then to show her teacher next week.

What a clever way of learning … Times tables have been a massive struggle and I’ve tried it through rhyme and song with my older children when they were at school but after purchasing this book it’s been so much easier … My little girl of 8 and twins of 6 picked it up in no time and through the basis of storytelling and the easy characters to remember they could remember the answers to their tables in just a few days I’m sure after a week they’ll have it sussed
